Christ is counting on you …
and I am counting on Christ.
Hello Emmaus Community!
I hope all of you have had a GREAT summer with lots of rest and reflection. As we march onward toward fall, the Walk to Emmaus community eagerly anticipates some upcoming events; the Fall Walk worknight, 2nd Team Meeting day, the Grand Gathering and of course the walks next month. Those event dates are noted below so you can add them to your calendars.
PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for submitting pilgrim applications is on Monday September 8th! The fill-in application can be found on the CCWTE.org website. Click this link to open the sponsorship webpage.
Oftentimes I see God as a great composer and conductor of a wonderful symphony using all the parts of His kingdom like the parts of an orchestra; strings, brass, reeds, percussion, etc to create the most beautiful music you’ve ever heard. Recently this imagery was brought to mind; a good friend needed to quickly move her mother from a full-sized house to a small mother-in-law unit. My friend had no idea how she was going to quickly get rid of most of the furniture and household items and was starting to stress about it. She mentioned what she was doing to a friend who had randomly called her and who “just happened” to have a friend who had just narrowly escaped a house fire that left she and her family with virtually no possessions.
What a blessing God turned this “chance encounter” into for both the giver AND the receiver. They both had their tremendous needs met as God conducted His great symphony.
We don’t always think about it, but every six months we can be a part of God’s symphony through sponsoring someone in our sphere of influence to an Emmaus weekend. And we may be the only person who can reach that person. So please, as we think about Christ counting on us, ask for His help bringing to mind a friend who would love to receive the gift of an Emmaus weekend.
May God bless each of you richly as you serve Him.
