SF MANDATORY ESSENTIAL BUSINESS & SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS
San Francisco issued new protocols for all essential businesses effective April 2, 2020. For those dentists taking dental emergencies with select team members in the office, you will need to:
  • Complete the Essential Business-Social Distancing Protocol Form
  • Provide the completed form to employees & post near the entrance to your facilities
  • Post a notice on social distancing at entrances to your facilities: NOTICE: To Employees and Patients
  • Be able to provide the completed Protocol to any enforcing authority

ADA IN THE NEWS
Teledentistry Allows Some Dental Care Services To Continue Amid COVID-19 Crisis
Writing in the  New Dentist Now  (4/6) blog, Dr. Amir Kazim, a member of the ADA, the California Dental Association, and the Harbor Dental Society, states that during the COVID-19 crisis, dentists can leverage teledentistry technology to offer a preliminary diagnosis to patients. Dr. Kazim states that by offering teledentistry, he is “still actively assessing needs of existing patients as well as offering basic diagnoses to help allay oral health concerns.” Pointing to the ADA’s  guide  on coding and billing for virtual check-ins, Dr. Kazim offers several suggestions to help dentists when submitting teledentistry codes to dental insurance companies.
