Dear TCGIS Community,

Since the beginning of the school year, TCGIS’s Incident Response Team (IRT) has met on the second Friday of the month to determine the learning model for the subsequent month. The IRT met today to discuss updates for March’s learning model, hoping to communicate our decision for the Middle School learning model by the end of the day today. However, our Regional Support Team (Ramsey County Public Health Experts) were not able to meet with us until Tuesday, February 16th.  We see it as essential to consult them before finalizing our learning model decisions. Furthermore, the additional time will give the IRT the chance to review the new guidelines for reopening schools released by the Center for Disease Control today.

We acknowledge that the uncertainty is difficult and we want to fully evaluate information from our public health experts before finalizing our decisions.

We are grateful for your continued patience as we work on this decision, focusing on the health, safety and education of our students and staff.

The IRT will make its decision on Wednesday, February 17. A community announcement will follow after we have met with Staff Council, as well as with teacher and EA union leaders.

We would also like to remind parents about our Kaffeeklatsch tomorrow at 9am for 3rd-5th grade families of students entering in-person learning next week.

Schönes Wochenende,

Your IRT,
Julie Alkatout, Board Chair
