We are writing to let you know that unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our ability to present the Quilters Take Manhattan event with confidence as planned. We have no certainty of when our venue for Quilters Take Manhattan, the Fashion Institute of Technology, will re-open or how safe our guests might be in Manhattan in late September. We have made the sad decision to cancel the QTM in-person event, but we are excited to offer an alternate event, Quilters Take a Moment, a virtual event to be held September 25-26, that we believe will be the online feel-good event of 2020 for all quilt lovers.
We will present much of the same exciting programming in this new QTM. Presenters will still include: Anna Maria Horner, Carolyn Mazloomi, Dindga McCannon, Julie Silber, Jack Walsh, Merikay Waldvogel, Emily Bode and Gwen Westerman. We will also still present "Known and Unknown" an extensive exhibition of quilts from three centuries. Our venue will be web-based, but not two-dimensional or time-limited, with both recorded and live events including fun social breaks and show and share sessions. Holding the event virtually now allows for an even larger and broader audience, and we've worked hard to keep the ticket pricing affordable.
If you would like to stick with us and attend Quilters Take a Moment, we will convert your QTM Main Event ticket to an all-access virtual ticket ($45 for members and those previously registered with a group). If you would prefer to cancel your ticket entirely, that's no problem; we will process your refund. If you'd like to donate the cost difference, or any portion of your add-on event fees, to support the work of the nonprofit Quilt Alliance we would be very grateful.
Your original ticket purchase totaled $ . Please let us know how you would like us to handle your Quilters Take Manhattan ticket purchase by filling out this form.
Thank you so much for supporting QTM and the Quilt Alliance. We won't be together in Manhattan in September, but we'll still be taking a moment to be together, learn together, and celebrate quilts together. Please stay well.
