The Morris Township Committee would like to make the community aware that the New York Red Bulls, a Major League Soccer team, have announced that they intend to build a new state-of-the-art training facility on a portion of the former Honeywell site off of Columbia Road. A request for rezoning of the Honeywell property by the Red Bulls has been received by the municipality. A copy of their media release can be found in the set of documents listed below.
The Red Bulls are proposing to purchase Lots 4 and 5 of the former Honeywell site, which have stood dormant for many years. This proposal appears to be a low-impact use of this large property and is anticipated to generate minimal traffic.
Additionally, the Red Bulls posted a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on their website to answer many of the questions the public has about the proposed project. Also, the Red Bulls plan to host a public meeting to discuss and answer any additional questions for the new proposed training complex. We will disseminate the date, time and location once we receive it.
