Update on the testing done this week

We retest all facility staff and residents last week on Wednesday July 15, 2020

Unfortunately, due to lab issues we still did not receive the results of all the employees and residents. Currently we have 3 residents pending and over 50% of the staff as well.

Per the lab, one of our resident is presumable positive without 100% definite result yet. We placed a call to the lab to try and find out when the final results will be in , with no final answer yet. The last conversation we had is that they are rerunning those residents tests.

Due to this finding, we currently treating the facility as positive and enact the full COVID-19 infection protocol.

For the time being we are also suspending visitation until we know if we have a positive case in the facility, and if we do, will try to apply contact tracing and find out which employee might walking around with the virus with no symptoms. Our policy in general is to remove the positive to COVID-19  resident (if any) and send them to 14 days quarantine at Beaumont.
We are following with additional facility wide testing today.

Comprehensive Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Guidance

Effective July 6, 2020 DPH came out with a new comprehensive PPE guidance. The big difference with the new protocol is that even a negative COVID facility (Like Oasis at Dodge Park) must start using eye protections and gowns at all time while in resident care area. We provided all our staff with goggles/face mask per their choice and washable protective gowns to use at all time while in resident care area. So if you come and visit us, dont get worry if we see all our staff with full PPE. It is for the protection of our residents and staff.
