Dear OLMC Parents,

Happy Easter! He is risen; He is risen indeed! It has been a joy to be able to partner with you in such an extraordinary way during the last few weeks. I am so grateful for the positive feedback you have been providing for us, especially for all of the compliments you have showered upon our amazing team of teachers. It would be an understatement to say that our teachers and staff are working overtime and rising to the occasion in a heroic way. Also, the input you provided through parent surveys has helped the administration to better understand the most pressing concerns and questions that you have. Last evening, Mr. Fletcher and I hosted our first Zoom parent meeting in which over 70 parents attended. We delivered a brief presentation that covered such topics as the schedule for e-Learning days through May, as well as the final determination of our 2019-20 school calendar. We will have another optional parent Zoom meeting tonight and tomorrow in which Mr. Fletcher and I will be sharing the same PowerPoint presentation. These slides will be posted in the next edition of the Messages from the Mount on April 22.

Moving forward, we will continue with e-Learning lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week throughout April and May. After meeting with our diocesan superintendent and other Catholic school principals in Hamilton County, OLMC School determined that our last day of school will take place on Friday, May 29. This day will be the only Friday in which OLMC will have an e-Learning Day. The decision to end on May 29 was based on Governor Holcomb’s executive order which stated that schools could officially close for the summer after completing 160 instructional days of school. While following a 3-day school schedule for the remainder of the year, this last day falls on May 29.

During this octave of Easter celebration, I pray that we will all be able to take time to focus on the most important things of life-- our Catholic faith, our family, and our loved ones. May we open ourselves up to the extraordinary graces the Lord is offering to us, graces which flow freely from the victory of His resurrection. I will specially pray for you and your families next Sunday on the solemnity of Divine Mercy. “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His mercy endures forever” (Ps 136:1).

In His Merciful and Sacred Heart,
Sister Maria Benedicta, O.P.

Pre-Order School Supply Kits for 2020-2021
We know that it is hard to think about school supply shopping, especially right now. During this time of much uncertainty, there is one thing we do know. Regardless of what it looks like, there will be a 1st day of school next year.

That is why we are excited to announce a continued partnership with 1st Day School Supplies!

This year, 1st Day School Supplies is going to help parents and teachers get the exact supplies needed for next school year without the RISK of shopping in person in stores. Supplies will be delivered to school for pick-up in early August.

Shopping online with 1st Day School Supplies is convenient, easy and hassle free! Plus, they have guaranteed competitive prices on the highest quality brands including the germ fighting brands like Purell and Clorox. So, with all the uncertainty this summer will bring, why not check school supply shopping off your list. Get started by clicking the link below:

You may have noticed new images for boxtops on the items you buy. Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label.

If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.

You can even earn money for our school when purchasing groceries online. Click here to learn more!

Many of you are already signed up! Thank you for your support. If you haven't done so, click here to learn more. It is so easy to download the app & choose our school.

Then no more clipping! Just scan your receipt and they automatically credit the funds to our school!

What if I still have boxtops I cut at home? Our school can still submit them through the end of the year. Please hold onto them for now. When the school re-opens, we will remind you to send them in.
