A Christ-centered community,

January 15, 2020
Dear OLMC Parents,

In this new decade of 2020, OLMC School is moving forward with a variety of events. Today your children will be coming home with their report cards, marking the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third quarter. The annual Geography Bee will be taking place on Friday afternoon, and next week we will have no school on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I hope you enjoy your long weekend!

Our school spirit will be ignited during the last week of January as we celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2020. We have a variety of activities scheduled for that week, including different out-of-uniform days for the students as well as a Student vs. Teacher volleyball game midway through the week. Our theme for the week is Gratitude, the virtue of the month for January, and this spirited week will end with a Faith Rally on Friday, January 31. More details regarding Catholic Schools Week will be forthcoming later on in the month, and I look forward to sharing with you all of the expressions of gratitude we will make throughout the week.

On another note, I am excited to share with you some recent news from Guerin Catholic’s President John Atha regarding his commitment to make Guerin Catholic “affordable, accessible, and available to all who desire a Catholic education” and his work “to remove any barrier that keeps a student from attending Guerin Catholic High School.”  Please click here to access his message

Blessings on your weekend!

In Christ, our hope,

Sister Maria Benedicta, O.P.

Please consider helping welcome these families by being a tour guide.  No previous experience necessary!   It does not matter whether you are a new family this year or a seasoned family as detailed talking points, maps, organized instruction with humor and smiles AND refreshments will be provided.

Tour guides would need to be available from 8:45-10:45. Please reach out to Haley Church [email protected] or Mary Quinn [email protected] with questions or to secure your spot on this exclusive list.
Used Book and Game Drive
Today through Jan 22
We will be collecting gently used books (ages infant to 18) and games from Wednesday Jan 15 - Wednesday Jan 22. There will be bins set up in the atrium for the collection. OLMC teachers will have an opportunity to look through the items first for use in their classrooms. At the end of the week, the remaining items will be delivered to the Catholic Center downtown. The Catholic Center distributes the items to schools for classroom use and after school care programs. Thank you for your generosity!
Moms of Our Lady Prayer Group:
We are a drop-in prayer group each Friday at 9:30, hosted in the home of an OLMC mom. All are welcome to join us - just show up!
