A Christ-centered community,
provides excellence in education
to meet the needs of the whole child.
August 14, 2019
Dear OLMC Parents,

Happy first day of school!  Our brand-new school year has begun, and we are ready for fresh new graces to descend upon us in these next ten months.  On a personal level, it has been so delightful for me to see so many smiling faces this morning as the children were able to meet their new teachers and join up once again with old friends.  Their energy was positive and certainly contagious!

I would like to thank the PTO for hosting the annual parent reception down in the lower level of the Church this morning.  This event was set up beautifully and was well-attended. I hope all families, especially the new ones, feel welcomed into our school and parish community and know that the school looks forward to working with them and supporting them this year.

I pray that your family’s transition back to school will continue to be peaceful, and I invite you to join us tomorrow at 8 am Mass in the Church as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  This day is a holy day of obligation for Catholics, and so we will join together to commemorate the day when Our Lady ended her life on earth and was assumed into heaven, body and soul. I hope to see you there!

With prayers for a blessed year,
Sister Maria Benedicta, O.P.

Lunch Information

Click here to visit the Lunchroom-Dining page of the school website. The current lunch menu, pricing, food allergy information & safe snack guide are always posted!

The link to PayForIt.net & the parent lunch server schedule is posted here as well!
Feast Day Cookies Tomorrow!
Cookies at lunch:  Our lunch program provider, Aladdin, is offering cookies for sale to celebrate Catholic feast days. Each cookie is $0.50, and the maximum purchase is two cookies per sale. Please reinforce the practice that children cannot buy cookies for other children; they can only buy them for themselves.

Payment for cookies will be made through the children's Pay For It lunch accounts (see below for more information about Pay For It accounts).

The first cookie sale will take place this Thursday for the Solemnity of the Assumption (8/15) and the last sale in August will be on Friday, August 23.

Lunch Accounts
The school cafeteria uses an online system called PayForIt.net. They are not able to accept cash payments. Your student must have a lunch account through PayForIt.net in order for them to make purchases.

New Families & Full Day Kindergarten parents were sent an email August 9 with instructions on how to create a new account. You will need your child's student ID number in order to create their account or add them to an existing family account.

Returning Families should update their account:
  • Add/Remove students: click on the add/view students tab
  • Add money to student accounts
  • Update auto-replenish - check the end date for new school year

*Please note that if you have a positive balance for a student that is no longer attending OLMC, please email Val Alvarez in the church office at [email protected]. She can send you a refund or transfer the balance to another student.

All parents are expected to help serve lunch at least 3 times per year.

For ease of scheduling, we have assigned dates to you. Please click here to check the calendar for your families assigned date(s) and mark your calendar. If you are unable to fulfill your assigned date it is your responsibility to trade with another family. The online school directory on the Directory Spot App is a good tool to find contact information for a family assigned to dates that work better for you. Read more about Directory Spot below.
