Methodical Unity - 2 Kings 10:15; Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-13

Christians, including our own tribe of the faith, have suffered many divisions on important matters of faith. On what basis do Methodists seek Christian Unity for the sake of outreach and mission? Join us as we seek universal – or catholic -- spirit common to all who love God in Christ.

WE NEED INFORMATION ABOUT OUR GRADUATES!

We’d like to extend our congratulations to those who have or will be graduating in 2024 from high school or post-secondary school. If you or a family member is graduating this spring, please send a notice to communications@genevaumc.org, and let us know from which school they are graduating, as well as any future educational, work or other plans.

They will be honored in our service on Sunday, June 2; please send your information by May 28.

ASP still needs a few more teens!

We are in need of 5-10 teens who are ages 14-18 to volunteer to rehab houses in Charleston, WV from June 15 through June 22nd. All teens are guided by experienced adults who will teach them how to build a porch, wheel chair ramp, put up siding, drywall, sometimes install a new roof over a trailer. We leave on June 15, and stay over at a church in Lexington, KY where we will get to know everyone in our crew. Sunday June 16, we leave for Charleston, WV and stay at the center in Kanawha County. Here's the link about the center. After 5 days of service we head back home on Saturday June 22, and will arrive around 3pm back in Geneva.

Cost is $350, but we have scholarships if needed. We will have a group meeting to talk about how to use all the tools we might need, talk about a packing list, and go to an Escape Room on Sunday June 9th. Friday June 14, we will gather at 5pm to have a potluck dinner together and pack the vans.

Items needed: sleeping bag, cot or air mattress, work clothes, lounge clothes for at the center, tools (hammer, eye protection, measuring tape), and of course money for ice cream every night!

Please contact Julie at jcpoboe@msn.com with any questions. To register please use this link.

Don't forget to invite your friends and

THIS IS A CALL TO ARMS

TO OUR FELLOW PARISHIONERS!

As God's faithful followers we are called to serve others. What better way to help us serve the many ministries we support in our community and abroad, than to help serve pancakes at the UMCG Pancake Breakfast.

We are still in need of Volunteers in many areas; cooking, wait staff, running batter, coffee, sausage, and dishes. The need is great.

Everyone --yes everyone -- is welcome to serve in this ministry. It is a great time to meet all your fellow church members and friends, while doing the Lord's work.

Use the button on the left for online signup or stop by our table in Fellowship Hall after worship.   Contact Tony Zefron with questions.

John Fasbender Celebration of Life

Please note: The Visitation and Celebration of Life for John Fasbender has been rescheduled from Sunday, May 26 to Wednesday, May 29. Visitation will begin at 3 pm and the Celebration of Life at 4 pm. Don't forget to wear brightly-colored clothing --Hawaiian shirts/dresses even better!

Do you know someone who would like to work with our youngest children in the nursery on Sunday mornings? We have a paid position of Nursery Assistant available to work with Dr. Greg in managing the nursery care during worship. We anticipate the time commitment to be about 2.5 hrs. every Sunday, and the pay will be minimum wage. This will provide great childcare experience and the ability to develop leadership skills. Click here for a comprehensive job description.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

We're on a roll with God! Join us for a fast-paced, food-centered VBS for kids Pre-K thru 5th grade. Baker will be hosting VBS from June 24-28, 9-11:30am, PLUS join us Thur, June 27 for a celebration luncheon following VBS to enjoy games, a bounce house, and the Hippie Gourmet Grilled Cheese food truck (cost not included). Are you excited about this Summer's Vacation Bible School? Do you want to help teach it? VBS is not only a fun and exciting week, but it is also our biggest opportunity to make an impact on young lives in our community. Please help support our Tri-City VBS through equipping us with volunteers!

Click here for a sign-up genius sponsored by Baker Memorial UMC to get willing volunteers to help make this experience a great one for our kids!
