Crypto Machine at XWA

City of Williston News Release - The City of Williston is pleased to announce a partnership with Coin Cloud (www.coin.cloud/) to host a Digital Currency Machine (DCM) at Williston Basin International Airport (XWA). This marks the first government-hosted cryptocurrency kiosk and the first Coin Cloud installation in an airport. The DCM is located before security on the first level near the rental car offices and the baggage carousel. Read More
XWA Enplanements continue to Climb

Williston Herald - North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports posted almost 87,000 airline passenger boardings during the month of October. “October boardings at XWA continued the positive trend we’ve seen over the past 12 months,” stated Airport Director Anthony Dudas. “We saw 1,120, or 10.9 percent, more passengers compared to September and 184 percent more passengers compared to October 2020.” Read More

Williston Area Career Expo November 19

Williston Economic Development - Williston High School (WHS) will be hosting the Williston Area Career Expo on Friday, November 19 from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The expo is designed to help students explore post-secondary routes such as two- and four-year colleges and universities, registered apprenticeship programs, industry certifications and other pathways. One of the newest ways to discover potential career paths is through interactive 360/VR job shadow experiences. WHS, Devils Lake High School (DLHS) and Be More Colorful, an immersive media agency, have partnered to create 12 videos about in-demand careers in North Dakota. The pilot project was funded with help from the Perkins V Innovation Grant obtained by both WHS and DLHS. Read More

Film set in North Dakota to premier December 17
in Watford City

A Heart Like Water, a film set in 1887 Dakota Territory, will be premiering next month in Watford City. The film, based on true events, chronicles the experiences of a husband and wife as they struggle to keep their family together as new residents on the Dakota frontier. The film stars Daniel Bielinski & Tiffany Cornwell and is directed by Charlie Griak. The film will show at the WCHS Theater--one night only--on Friday, December 17, at 7pm.
