Prayers of Intercession

With bold trust in God’s unfailing provision, we pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

A brief silence.

For believers around the world who stream to your holy mountain, that all be united in faith and harmony in the body of Christ. Let your church on earth be a witness to the beloved community of your heavenly kingdom. Merciful God, receive our prayer.

For your wondrous creation, that it thrives and flourishes as you intend. Raise up wise stewards to defend the natural world against carelessness and destruction. Safeguard endangered species and their habitats. Merciful God, receive our prayer.

For the nations of the world and all in authority, that they heed the cry of the outcast and ensure care for the most vulnerable. Give wisdom to leaders of countries, congregations, and communities, that they lead and serve justly. Merciful God, receive our prayer.

For all who are lonely, grieving, or struggling with chronic pain, that they find comfort, community, and hope. Send relief to all who struggle with illness of any kind. Enable this congregation to seek ways of kindness and compassion for those who rely on our care. Merciful God, receive our prayer.

For the saints before us whose work is done, that their faithful example continues to direct your church. May their witness remind us that your gifts and calling are irrevocable, whether in life or death.

Merciful God, receive our prayer.

Receive our prayers and answer, O God, as you have promised. All this we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Project Nehemiah Update

Thanks to the generosity of Messiah members, we sent $150,287.57 to Thrivent to pay down our mortgage principal. We then went through the re-amortization process, which reduced our mortgage payment to $13,339 per month. This is a savings of $1,541 per month. We appreciate all of your support of Project Nehemiah.

Family Choir - September 6th

Dear Messiah Family,

After taking a few months off, it’s time to once again have the Family Choir sing on the first Sundays of the month! I know I have missed hearing you all sing, as I hope you have missed singing!

I’ve got some beautiful music planned for us this fall. So come join in on Sunday, September 6th, during the offering. We will gather up front and sing the beautiful hymn, “Beautiful Savior.” For those of you who love to sing harmony, this is the PERFECT hymn! I don’t know which moves me more with this hymn, the words or the music. Either way, it is a wondrous and awesome way to praise our Lord and Savior! 

Please come join me! Let’s raise our voices to God, the “Light of our souls, our joy, our crown!”

August 23rd Community Meal

SWEET MISSION: COOKIES WANTED!

We need cookies — lots of them — and your oven is our secret weapon.

On Sunday August 23rd, we’re serving 200 neighbors facing food & housing insecurity, and we want to give them a dessert that brings instant joy. Your best cookies will do the trick.

Bake. Drop off on or before August 23. Label them "COMMUNITY MEAL AUGUST 23” and you’ll make someone’s day.

Quilters' Support Request

It’s that time of year again: Back to school! Our Quilter’s group would love to have your support again this year. So while you are out getting supplies, if you can grab a few extras, they would be greatly appreciated!

If you’d like to contribute money to pay for supplies, we can also do the shopping! Please give any cash or checks made out to Messiah Quilters, to the church office!

Items needed:

• Notebooks: College or wide rule, 70 sheet, 1 subject. Walmart or Target
• Crayola crayons: 24 count color crayola crayons (no other brands please!) Walmart, Fred Meyer, Target
• Scissors: Blunt tip 3-5” blade scissors for kids. Walmart, Fred Meyer, Target
