Longest Night

Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and I will give you rest." On the longest night of the year we invite those who are weary, those who are grieving, those who are anxious, those who are hopeless, anyone who needs a rest, to join us for worship on December 21 at 7 pm. As we sing and pray and hear God's promises, we know that we are held by God and one another. This worship service will be held in the Sanctuary and will be livestreamed.

Offerings for 2022

Thursday, December 29 is the last day that Messiah’s church office will receive offerings to be posted to a household’s 2022 giving statement. For folks who utilize a Messiah giving statement for tax purposes, and you desire to have those offerings recorded for 2022, make sure that your contributions are to the church office by December 29. For all our Messiah households, thank you for your financial support of our mission and ministry!

Annual Reports

Annual reports are due to the church office by Thursday, January 12th, 2023. The Annual Meeting will be held on January 29, 2023.

Ministry Position is Opening

Pam Downing, Messiah’s Finance and Operations Coordinator, has taken a position with the Auburn School District. Tia Monsen has taken over Pam’s duties overseeing church operations, and Pam is continuing to act as Finance Coordinator through the end of January 2023.

Messiah is beginning the process of hiring a new Finance Coordinator. If you have experience and interest in the areas of managing payroll, working with accounts payable, balancing and maintaining bank and investment accounts, financial reporting, and preparation of church, state, and federal reports, please consider applying for this position.

Messiah Chamber Music Ensemble

Starting in January 2023, Messiah will launch the Messiah Chamber Music Ensemble, an umbrella ensemble for all special music in worship services. This change will allow us to offer special music every week in worship, to involve more musicians in worship, and represent a wider array of musical offerings to the congregation. Any Messiah musicians interested in offering special music can get on the schedule and choose their own repertoire. Special efforts will be made to include music and musicians that are underrepresented elsewhere in our worship, such as youth musicians, instrumental solos, and contemporary worship music. Interested musicians can complete the Google Form to get on the schedule or contact Jan Nelson at jan.nelson@mlcauburn.org for more information.

Barry Brenan Memorial Service

A service of memorial will be held for Barry Brenan on Saturday, January 7th at 11:00am at Emmanuel Reformed Baptist Church in SeaTac, Washington. A casual lunch will be served afterward.
