Messimer Holds lead Heading into Final Round
The second round of the 2022 Junior Girls Championship at Arcadian Shores Golf Club in Myrtle Beach was overcast with a slight breeze, perfect for some fantastic golf being played. Round 1 leader Madison Messimer held onto the lead by firing a five under 67 for a two day total of 12 under going into the final round. Messimer has a 14 shot lead over Mia Grey who posted a one under 71 today to sit at two over 146 going into the final round. Rounding out the top 6 in the race for the South Carolina Team in the GA/SC Junior Girls Challenge Matches are: Olivia Pellerin (148), Taylor Reaves(151), Mia Andrade(152),Cara Hilburn (152), and Katherine Mann (152).

The field was flighted into 2 flights off of the two day total score. Each flight is going to be a very tight race with almost everyone having a chance to win their own flights. If you want to come out and watch some great golf, Sunday's round will be tee times beginning at 8:00am at the beautiful Arcadian Shores Golf Course. Georgia vs. South Carolina Challenge Matches

The race is on for the top 6 to represent South Carolina in the GA/SC Junior Girls Challenge Matches at Ford Field and River Club in Georgia. There are 10 players within five shots of the top 6 with the ability to go low and claim their position to represent South Carolina. All ties for the 6th spot, 1st, and 2nd alternate will be a Sudden Death Playoff.
