Dear Metro MLS Member,

COVID-19 has impacted all of our sense of normal. Today, that was reinforced by the "Safer from Home" Executive Order of Governor Evers for all Wisconsinites and businesses.

The  Executive Order  begins at 9 am Wednesday, March 25, and is scheduled to last until April, 24th. This order provides that among the essential businesses and operations permitted
are professional services (page 13), which includes real estate services, including appraisal, home inspection, and title services.  It does, however, specify that services shall, to the greatest extent possible, use technology to avoid meeting in person.

In light of these unprecedented times, Metro MLS has made changes to our business rules that meet the challenges of today. Removing the requirement of Showings on Active properties is only a start. Additionally, we will be issuing new updates this week that encourages the continued use of technology to engage buyers and sellers while balancing the importance of social distancing. New concepts of  Virtual Showings  and use of Virtual Tours will be vital at this time.

It's important to know that in these times, Metro MLS will continue to serve you and the entire Real Estate market. Our staff will continue to be available to answer calls and emails with questions or concerns you may have. Whether we're in the building or virtual, you are our #1 concern! The market and economy must go on, so we shall!

As we go forward, please be advised the Executive Order contains guidance requiring the continued observance of the previously ordered preventive measures such as social distancing, hand washing, and disinfecting.

  • Maintain a social distance of 6 feet between people;
  • No gatherings of 10 or more people;
  • Avoid social gatherings with people of all ages (including play dates and sleepovers, parties, large family dinners, visitors in your home, non-essential workers in your house);
  • Frequent and thorough hand-washing with soap and water;
  • Covering coughs and sneezes;
  • Avoiding touching your face; and
  • Staying home.

As always, Metro MLS appreciates your membership and trust. There will continue to be many questions, but together we solve them! Brighter days are ahead.

My best,

Chris Carrillo, CEO
