BUY BLACK!
When Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III, of Friendship-West Baptist Church, announced 100 Days of Buying Black in acknowledging the 100th Commemoration of the Tulsa Race Massacre, we joined the movement. December 31, 2021 marked 100 days of featuring Black Businesses, and we decided that the struggle continues and we must also. So enjoy reading about more Black-owned businesses and please support.

A registered nurse and licensed massage therapist, Herdercine Nash cares about people and her community.
Hailing from Delhi, Louisiana, Herdercine Nash graduated from Esther Toombs High School and studied Nursing at Howard Community College/EL Centro College.  She’s a wife, mother and grandmother who’s been married for 62 years! Such a loving person, she was a mentor and source of support and inspiration to so many. If you didn’t know better, you would think that she was an alumnus of Southern University because she has been so supportive of the school.  Also a loyal supporter of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Herdercine  is known for being compassionate and knowledgeable.  She doesn’t mince words and her opinion is valued.
Our Superb Women!
2021 was the "Year of the Woman," especially the Black Woman! For 10 months we dedicated this space to uplifting Black women and spreading a message that we need to show love and empower people with love instead of destroying them with hate and disrespect. We celebrate Black Women and call them SUPERB! AND WE ARE KEEPING THE CELEBRATION GOING IN 2022!

OUR VOICES
For Those Who Didn’t Vote
By Dr. John E. Warren

In California, it is expected that there will be low voter turnout. It is anticipated that this will be the case in a number of states holding primaries because a number of people are frustrated with the problems of the pandemic, high gas prices, and inflation at the grocery store and across the country. But apathy is not the answer. As a matter of fact, the Extreme Right mainly sees an opportunity for the Republican Party to run its candidates for office at all levels, with anticipated success for those who bought the Big Lie that Donald Trump won the Presidency.

BLACK HISTORY MOMENT!

U.S. Supreme Court ruled the five-four decision that the death penalty was cruel and unusual punishment which violated the Eighth Amendment. At the time of the ruling, Blacks and members of other minority groups constituted 483 of the 60 persons awaiting execution.

Dallas mayor and manager truce isn’t the progress city needed

City Hall is in trouble, and this wasn’t the way to fix it.

After a few years of battering one another’s egos, Mayor Eric Johnson and City Manager T.C. Broadnax have at last decided it’s time to work together for the betterment of the city. This comes after a dramatic couple of weeks that saw Johnson unsuccessfully maneuver to have the City Council fire Broadnax, something Broadnax deftly deflected to put Johnson on the defensive with a City Council he had been patching things up with.

The Poor Peoples Campaign: A Declaration, Announcement, Beginning, Moving
Forward Commitment
NNPA Newswire/BlackPressUSA
By Menra Mapfumo

The Poor People’s Campaign was established in 1968, by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King wanted the Poor People’s Campaign to highlight the need for economic equality and social justice. Dr. King wanted to help poor people by demanding the means for basic necessities. In 1967, Dr. King said the Poor People’s Campaign would seek to “demand jobs, unemployment insurance, a fair minimum wage, and education for poor adults and children designed to improve their self-image and self-esteem.”
The Path

As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
