New & Updated FEMA Flood Data Map Layers Now Available In Prospector MLS
MetroList has added two new flood map layers in Prospector MLS: FEMA Flood Data and FEMA Base Flood Elevation(BFE). These flood maps are located under the Hazards map layer section, with data showing the computed elevation to which floodwater is anticipated to rise during the base flood.

The BFE is the regulatory requirement for the elevation or flood-proofing of structures and the relationship between the BFE and a structure's elevation determines the flood insurance premium.

As part of this update, the FEMA Flood Data map layer tooltip has been updated to include a new flood zone legend. The FEMA Flood Data and FEMA Base Flood Elevation map layers also display FEMA flood data at the state-wide level instead of by county, providing users with full statewide coverage.
The BFE maps are located under the Hazards map layer section. Once you select the desired category, the map will appear to the right of the map layer section. (Click on an image below to enlarge)
To view the flood data legend (see example below), click on the center of the map.
