Timmy had a corneal ulcer, a painful eye condition often caused by trauma. Because it wasn't healing properly, our fabulous Dr. Desai performed enucleation (eye removal) surgery at our clinic. Now, a month later, he's on the mend and ready to unwrap the greatest gift of all — a forever home for the holidays. | |

Last week, our team gathered for our very first staff holiday party, a festive occasion where we reminisced about the past year and celebrated each other's hard work and accomplishments.

From the highs to the lows, and all the unexpected twists in between, your dedication and passion have made Nine Lives a trusted, compassionate haven for vulnerable cats and kittens in the Bay Area and beyond. Despite its challenges, this year's kitten season was an incredible success and resulted in a remarkable 40% increase in kitten intake compared to 2022. We welcomed nearly 400 adorable furballs into our care, all thanks to your generous donations and the tireless work of our dedicated staff. | |

Our adoption efforts soared, with 662 adoptions as of December 19th, marking a 10% increase compared to last year.

4,000th Spay/Neuter Surgery | |
On Tuesday we proudly celebrated our 4,000th spay/neuter surgery of 2023! Our lucky patient was a beautiful 5-month-old calico kitty (pictured below), who is now on the path to a healthier, happier life. Thank you to our amazing team, supporters, and everyone who contributed to this incredible milestone. | |
Our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program achieved significant growth, offering 1,742 spay/neuter appointments to community cats in 2023 — a 100% increase from the previous year. | |
