Erik Raser-Schramm joins County as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced last week that Erik Raser-Schramm will join the administration as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer to oversee limiting the spread of COVID-19, protecting the most vulnerable, and working to build New Castle County back better. Raser-Schramm leaves his role as Chairman of the Delaware Democratic Party and is no stranger to public service. He previously worked in Legislative Hall as the Chief of Staff for the Delaware House of Representatives majority caucus for five years. He was also a policy advisor for former Governor Ruth Ann Minner.
County continues offering pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will continue to offer pop-up testing sites next week, in addition to the fixed sites offered by the State of Delaware. Fixed sites can be found at Walgreens, State service centers and some physicians offices, every weekday during normal business hours. As a result of community demand, New Castle County will operate pop-up sites with evening hours. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. County, DSU to partner on COVID-19 testing lab expansion
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer and Delaware State University President Dr. Tony Allen announced a proposed partnership last week that would see the county invest about $5 million in existing infrastructure at DSU's Kirkwood Highway campus to expand its testing capabilities for COVID-19. The lab expansion will create jobs and speed up the already quick testing times seen in Delaware. To see video of the announcement, CLICK HERE.
