County partners with DonorsChoose to benefit Delaware teachers
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a new state-wide partnership with DonorsChoose to support Delaware Public School teachers with up to $1,000 per teacher. The county has set aside $1,000,000 from CARES Act funding to support these requests. Applications should focus on needs to adapt classrooms to address challenges brought on by the pandemic. The deadline to apply is tomorrow, November 24th, though late applications may be considered up to December 10th if funding remains. For teachers who are interested in applying, CLICK HERE. Little Free Library program expands, deadline to apply Wednesday
New Castle County has expanded the Little Free Library program with hopes to deliver up to 50 more of the libraries to neighborhoods across the county. The original phase of the program brought 15 Little Free Libraries to neighborhoods during a selection event held at Talley Day Park. The deadline to apply for the second phase of this program is Wednesday, November 25th. Recipients will be notified by December 1st regarding their library. Winter Ready Restaurant Grant Program offers second round
New Castle County has committed more funding to the Winter Ready Restaurant Grant Program through a partnership with the Committee of 100. County continues offering pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County is offering a condensed testing schedule this week around the Thanksgiving holiday, in addition regular testing sites operated by the State of Delaware. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. To register for testing at one of the county's sites, CLICK HERE.
