County Executive sworn-in for second term
County Executive Matt Meyer began his second term in office following his swearing-in ceremony at 11am on Tuesday morning. Meyer took the oath of office from Judge Gregory Sleet in his office at the New Castle County Government Center. Chief Administrative Officer Vanessa Phillips offered remarks and Rev. County Executive looks to 2021 in Delaware Online Op-Ed
County Executive Matt Meyer penned an Op-Ed, available on Delaware Online on Wednesday morning. The County Executive looks back on the successes and challenges of 2020 and ahead to ways we can all build back together in 2021. From support for teachers teaching virtually across all grade levels to standing up testing and now vaccine infrastructure at a state and county level, there are many challenges ahead. County Police Academy to host virtual graduation January 14
The New Castle County Police Academy will graduate their newest class of officers at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 14th, at the New Castle County Police Academy in Newark. The graduation of the 47th recruit class will not be open to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will be broadcast virtually to the New Castle County Police Facebook Page. County continues offering pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will continue offering regular pop-up testing sites across the county, in addition to regular testing sites operated by the State of Delaware. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. Results are usually returned in 24-48 hours.
