Buildings around County light up to remember those lost to COVID
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer joined Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and U.S. Senator Chris Coons outside The Grand Opera House in Wilmington as the building was lit amber to remember the over 400,000 Americans lost to COVID-19 as part of the Biden Inaugural Committee's events. County Executive joins in MLK Day of Service activities
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer participated in a number of MLK Day of Service events across New Castle County on Monday morning in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.. The Biden Inaugural Committee designated a number of events as President Elect Biden also volunteered at a site in Philadelphia. County Executive Meyer was joined at the Hope Center by U.S. Senator Chris Coons to sort donations. To see video of the day, CLICK HERE.
Delaware sends former County Councilman off to White House
Former New Castle County Councilman Joe Biden left Delaware for the final time as president-elect with a send-off ceremony at the Major Joseph R. "Beau" Biden III National Guard/Reserve Center in New Castle on Tuesday afternoon. Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday afternoon at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. To see video fo the send-off, CLICK HERE.
County continues offering pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will continue offering regular pop-up testing sites across the county, in addition to regular testing sites operated by the State of Delaware. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. Results are usually returned in 24-48 hours.
