What is new at MiDCD?

MiDCDD will change to MiDCD (Michigan Division for Communication Language and Deaf/Hard of Hearing) to align with national CEC. In addition, the logo will change to align with the new name change.

Social Media-MiDCD will have a Twitter account starting in January. The account will have 2 posts per week.

Look for new swag with the new logo at the Michigan CEC conference.

We will be holding the annual MiDCD meeting on Friday 3/6/20 during the Michigan CEC conference. Also, look for our table at MiCEC conference.

Multiple Exceptionalities Chair: Megan Chmura

In our world filled with technology, there is no reason not to take advantage! Throughout my career so far, finding appropriate apps to use with diverse learners has sometimes been a challenge. Luckily, some resources have been shared with me that have proven to be quite useful!

● A group of Occupational Therapists on the west-side of Michigan put a list together broken down by category. It outlines the description, device it can be used on, and the cost. Click here for the complete 30 page list.

● Common Sense Education recently put together a list of 37 apps that have been recommended by a variety of experts in education. Click here to check it out!

● Jana Rooheart is a former special education teacher who put together a list of apps for teaching and learning in 2017. Her list highlights apps that can be used for personalized learning with special needs students.
