Fact Sheet: Miami Beach Promenade Improvements

Notice Date: Wednesday, September 10, 2025

Project Overview

The City of Miami Beach has engaged Curtis + Rogers Design Studio to prepare a Feasibility Study and development of a comprehensive master plan for the Miami Beach Promenade, formerly known as Miami Beach Drive. The Promenade is located east of Collins Avenue and west of the Beachwalk, spanning from 24 to 29 Street. This project was conceived in response to community concerns regarding the area’s aesthetics and functionality. The City of Miami Beach is committed to enhancing the Promenade to better serve the community.

The final feasibility study will provide a master level plan design, identify key issues and concerns, and funding required for further project development.

What's Happening?

The project will soon commence with geotechnical exploration to assess soil conditions and groundwater behavior—critical factors in ensuring a sustainable and effective design. This phase includes specialized testing at designated locations, as per the provided map:

  • Standard Penetration Test (SPT): Seven locations have been identified for assessment.
  • Percolation Test (PERC): Four locations have been identified for assessment.

Please know that this schedule may change due to weather and/or any unforeseen circumstances.
