Black History Month Spotlight
Today, we spotlight Michelle Collins, MBA, Founder and CEO of Miami-based Chelle's Cutie Pies, the first company to market a white sweet potato pie (100% vegan and gluten-free).

Michelle credits the support and encouragement she received from local retailers like My Kitchen8's Mona Romero and Tony Alfonso, for helping her business scale even during the pandemic. When asked what she found unique about Miami-Dade's Black business/business leader community, she says, "The Black business community is very tight knit and well connected. It is a great resource for networking and access to resources for my business. I’ve also experienced decision makers who see the value in uplifting the community, while keeping the history of Black Miami alive."

In 2020, Michelle was selected as one of Legacy Miami Magazine's top "40 under 40 in South Florida" for her innovative pie creation. Additionally, in 2020, Chelle's Cutie Pies was nominated by O Magazine for Oprah's Favorite Things, Holiday Edition.
