Miami-Dade Commission for Women Celebrated Women's History Month
The Miami-Dade Commission for Women celebrated International Women's Day and kicked off Women's History Month on March 8 with the official unveiling of an art installation curated by MUCE (My Urban Contemporary Experience). The event featured a video presentation from Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade's first woman Mayor, remarks from several County Commissioners, and remarks from a local high school student who publishes a feminist newsletter.
Thank you to all the sponsors: Commission for Women, Planned Parenthood of South, East, and North Florida, and the League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County. The art exhibit features multimedia work by local artists, focusing on the complexities of motherhood, particularly during the pandemic, and it will remain on display until March 31.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update for County Employees
Message from Miami-Dade County Mayor: "Making the COVID-19 vaccine available to all our residents efficiently and equitably to all our residents is my top priority, and that's why I have been working to expand eligibility and access. This week, Miami-Dade County vaccination sites began administering shots to people 50 years and older, and moving forward, we will continue to lower eligibility by 10 years every week until all adults in our community are able to receive the vaccine. Getting shots in arms as fast as possible is our best path to end the pandemic, and we are deeply grateful to all the healthcare heroes and first responders helping us get there."
If you are over 50 years of age, or a member of the Miami-Dade Police Department or Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, please submit this form for employee vaccinations. Employees will be contacted by MDFR to schedule an appointment based on vaccine availability.
