Black Affairs Advisory Board presents

State of Black Miami Report

On November 12, the Black Affairs Advisory Board (BAAB) presented its 2023 State of Black Miami Report to the County Commission’s Housing, Recreation, Culture & Community Development Committee. The Report summarizes the recommendations that came out of BAAB’s 2023 State of Black Miami Forum, one of several forums organized by BAAB over the past several years. At these forums, BAAB convenes experts and community stakeholders to address and find solutions for challenges facing the county’s African American residents. These recommendations are then shared with the County Commissioners for implementation. The topics highlighted in the 2023 report include mental health, education, and generational wealth.
