Beth Larkin, PE
, has joined Michael Baker as Senior Vice President and Pittsburgh Office Executive. In her new role, Beth will be responsible for client care and overseeing the growth of our portfolio of business in Pittsburgh, while broadening our outreach to new markets and clients. Additionally, she will provide operational and staff management and production and project oversight for the office. Beth joins Michael Baker with more than 30 years of operations and leadership experience within the infrastructure and transportation industries. Most recently, she served as Assistant General Manager for Capital Delivery at Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), where she was responsible for over $4 billion of programs and projects for commuter rail, rapid transit and bus and ferry systems. Prior to her tenure at MBTA, Beth spent 13 years with HNTB Corporation, where she was responsible for supporting the largest projects in the northeastern U.S. as Northeast Division Project Delivery Officer. She also served as Northeast Division Operations Officer, Interim New York Office Leader and Boston Office Leader, among other positions. Beth earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Molly Shovlin
has joined Michael Baker’s Pittsburgh Office as Department Manager in the Construction Services Practice. She brings more than 23 years of industry experience across a broad range of construction areas; including commercial specialty contracting, heavy highway and bridge construction, and building and industrial claims analysis. In her new role, Molly will be leading the pursuit of vertical construction services in the region. Most recently, Molly worked on numerous consulting projects involving delay claims, cost claims, property damage estimates, and other construction-related disputes. Recent projects have included high-profile work such as hurricane damage to One World Trade Center, construction disputes on Seattle’s SR 99 Alaskan Way Bored Tunnel, and overflow of the King County Sewage Treatment Facility. Molly is a member of the Construction Management Association of America.

J. Brad Homan, PE
, has been promoted to Regional Aviation Lead supporting strategic growth in aviation in the greater Pittsburgh area and throughout Michael Baker's Great Lakes Region. Brad has been with Michael Baker for over 26 years, most recently serving as the Department Manager, Aviation, in the Pittsburgh Office. Brad also serves as the Assistant Project Manager for the Multi-Modal Complex for the Pittsburgh International Terminal Modernization Program. Brad has a Master's Certificate in Project Management from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Indiana. Brad serves as the Vice Chair for the ACEC/PA Aviation Committee and is a member of the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania.

, has been promoted to Vice President and Pittsburgh Transportation Practice Executive. John solidifies leadership in the Pittsburgh Office with his 26 years of industry experience, all at Michael Baker, and where he most recently served as the acting Transportation Practice Executive. As Practice Executive, John provides overall leadership to the group while managing the financials, operational performance, practice administration, production/project oversight, business development, and client engagement for our Highway, Traffic, Aviation and Emerging Technology services. John has a Master of Business Administration degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. He is a registered Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania. John also serves on the Board of Directors of ASHE's Pittsburgh Chapter.

Matthew Ponce, PE
, has joined Michael Baker's Pittsburgh Office as Department Manager, Aviation.
In this role, Matthew will provide leadership to the aviation team while managing the operational performance, staff development, and client engagement in the greater Pittsburgh area.
In his last position, Matthew worked at a major consulting firm, where he led and contributed to a number of airfield projects, most notably the $4 billion replacement of Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
Matthew has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. Matthew is a member of American Association of Airport Executives, Aviation Council of Pennsylvania, Airports Council International and the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania.

Wendy Berrill, PE
, has been promoted to Department Manager, Highway, and will be responsible for overseeing growth and strategic business development within Michael Baker’s Highway Design Practice within the Greater Pittsburgh Region. She has been a part of Michael Baker for 14 years and most recently served as Acting Department Manager, Highway. Throughout her career, Wendy has worked extensively on roadway design and railroad design in various roles including Design Engineer, Task Manager and Project Manager. Wendy earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wendy is a member of ASHE and serves on WTS Pittsburgh's Board of Directors.

Jessica Belowich, PE, PTOE
, has been promoted to Department Manager, Traffic, and will focus on growing the Company’s Traffic Engineering Practice within the Greater Pittsburgh Region, while identifying new opportunities for innovation. She has been with Michael Baker for 15 years, most recently serving as Acting Department Manager, Traffic. During her tenure with the Company, she has been involved with the design of numerous transportation projects, and she is currently the Lead Traffic Engineer for the I-2 Design-Build Project in Texas and the Highland Park Interchange Reconstruction Project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jessica earned a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, both from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jessica is a member of ASHE, ESWP and WTS.

, has been promoted to Vice President and Planning Practice Executive. Mike brings 16 years of industry experience, 11 at Michael Baker, and most recently served as the acting Pittsburgh Office Operations Manager and Acting Planning Practice Executive. As Practice Executive, Mike will provide overall leadership to the group while managing the financials, operational performance, practice administration, production/project oversight, business development, and client engagement for our Planning, Federal Planning, Urban Design, Geographic Information Technology (GIT), LiDAR, Survey, Environmental Planning, Archaeology, and Historic Preservation services. Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. Mike is a certified Planner and is LEED Green Associate.

Rachael Richter, AICP
, has been promoted to Associate Vice President and Planning Department Manager. In this role, Rachael will lead the Pittsburgh Planning Department—inclusive of Federal, municipal, hazard mitigation and comprehensive planning—by focusing on growing the core markets and introducing new markets and clients, while ensuring that our technical capabilities and quality standards align. Rachael has 13 years of extensive experience, including 10 at Michael Baker, as well as Department of Defense master planning, local community planning and outreach and meeting facilitation. Rachael holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Rachael is a certified Planner and a LEED Green Associate.

, has been named Department Manager, Transportation of the Fort Washington Office. In this new role, Fernando will focus on growing the Transportation Practice within the Greater Philadelphia area and provide oversight of the Highway and Traffic Departments. Fernando has 24 years of industry experience, including 20 at Michael Baker, where he specializes in traffic signal design/operations and highway design, and has managed multi-million dollar projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Fernando holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Fernando is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), ITSPA and ASHE.

, has been named Department Manager, Highway, in Michael Baker’s Fort Washington Office and will be responsible for overseeing growth with local clients and staff development of the Highway team members. Stephen has been with Michael Baker for over 20 years and his experience covers a broad range in the field of transportation and highway design. During his tenure with the company, he has been responsible for the delivery of an assortment of projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, regional counties and local municipalities. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

, has been named Department Manager, Traffic in Michael Baker’s Fort Washington Office. William has worked for Michael Baker for a total of 10 years and returned after several years working in the public sector in the Washington, DC area, where he managed a variety of traffic and bicycle/pedestrian projects. In his role as Department Manager, William will be focused on growing the practice locally as well as collaborating with the company’s national practice. William earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. William is a member of ITE and MASITE.
