Zinnia's Guest Artist

For the month of September, I will be exhibiting a selection of my autumn paintings at Home by Zinnia's, located at 262 Mt Herman Road in Scotts Valley. I am delighted to share some of my vineyard paintings with the community during their celebration of fall: apple harvest, golden vines, pumpkins and hay bales. The painting shown here Vineyard View, 16" x20", was painted at Soquel Vineyards, a local winery, just up the hill from my studio. Reflections Elegante Gallery

I will have a special showing of my paintings and prints at the Reflections Elegante Gallery during the Monterey County Open Studio tour on September 19 & 20. I will be present during the weekend to talk art and answer questions from 11-6pm both days.

The Gallery is located at 271 Alvarado Mall, Monterey, CA 93940, near the Monterey Plaza Hotel and the Monterey Convention Center.

My participation in the Santa Cruz Arts Council's Open Studio event is always fun. I've now enjoyed exhibiting in this show for almost 30 years. Open Studios is a time when art appreciators can view a wide range of my paintings. I have been working on several large landscapes of our area which I expect to finish for exhibition this October. Small and large work is available for purchase, as well as cards and prints of my paintings. My studio is at the end of a private drive in Soquel and directions are available on my website as well. Just follow Cherryvale Avenue all the way to the end and the follow signs for 4930 another 1/4 mile and you will be at my studio.

I will have paintings in two preview exhibits

• one painting at MK Contemporary, 703 Front Street in Santa Cruz,
• and two paintings in the Pajaro Valley Arts Gallery at 280 Main Street in Watsonville.

This event is an opportunity for the public to visit with artists in their place of work. I enjoy talking about my inspiration and process with you.

Celebration of Fort Ord Dunes State Park

The Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters have been invited to paint with the development crews at this coast-side state park in Seaside. On specific Saturdays, painters have accompanied work crews as they build new campgrounds and clear invasive vegetation from the park. There will be an exhibit in the Avery Gallery at Seaside City Hall from September 7 through November 5. MBPAPA members will exhibit paintings made over the past 2 years. My painting Dune Patterns, oil, 11x14 will be included in the exhibit. Thanks to Elaine Goldstone for arranging all the paint outs and the exhibit.

King's Mountain Art Fair - I'm sad to miss this year.

Richard is working to recover strength and flexibility with his new knee. I regret that I have no ability to attend the Kings Mountain Art Fair this year, being his main coach and aide . I am glad to contribute to the charity a percentage of any purchases made from my website over Labor Day Weekend.
