Spring Cleaning Your ODS: A Quick Refresh Before Year-End

As the school year wraps up, it’s the perfect time for a quick check-in on your DataHub ODS. Think of it as a seasonal refresh; small updates now can make a big difference heading into next year.

Take a Look at Your Users

Over time, access can get a little out of sync. Now’s a great time to:

  •  Remove users who are no longer with your district
  •  Add or update roles for staff who need access

Keeping this current helps ensure the right people have the right access, nothing more, nothing less.

Reminder: Technical Contacts can manage all roles except Superintendent and Superintendent Proxy. For those updates, please submit a helpdesk ticket.

Review Your Integrations

Integrations can also build up over time. A quick review can help you:

  •  Identify integrations that are no longer in use
  •  Deactivate anything that’s no longer needed

A cleaner ODS is easier to manage and helps reduce confusion down the road.

Taking a few minutes now can help avoid extra work later and set your district up for a smoother start to the new school year.

If you need a hand with any of this, we’re always happy to help just submit a helpdesk ticket.

Highlights from

Tech Congress 2026

Last week, members of the Michigan DataHub team attended Tech Congress 2026 in Austin, Texas, hosted by the Ed-Fi Alliance.

From the opening Tech Townhall to ongoing community discussions, one theme stood out: interoperability is a shared responsibility. Ensuring systems work together effectively requires collaboration, alignment, and continuous dialogue across the education technology community.

Our team participated in conversations focused on data quality, system integration, and the evolving intersection of policy, technology, and practice. These discussions play an important role in strengthening connectivity across systems and reducing friction for districts.

What this means for Michigan districts: The work happening at events like Tech Congress directly informs how we continue to enhance the DataHub. This includes improving data quality tools, strengthening integrations, and making systems work together more seamlessly.

We’re grateful to be part of a community committed to building forward together.

Connecting with MiStarQ Users at Q User Summit

Last week, the Michigan DataHub team connected with MiStarQ users at the Q User Summit in Novi, MI.

Kevin Bullard and Melissa Tront shared how collaboration between SIS systems and the DataHub helps districts maintain high-quality, actionable data. The session highlighted built-in data quality tools, along with a preview of upcoming enhancements, including expanded alerting options and user interface updates.

The level of engagement made the session especially meaningful, with attendees staying afterward to ask questions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We always value the opportunity to connect and collaborate.

Interested in a training for your ISD or region? We would be happy to work with you. Please reach out to schedule a session.
