RE: Michigan Personal Injury Protection Coverage - 2nd Bulletin
As previously communicated , effective July 2, 2020, unlimited PIP is no longer required in MI; instead, the following limits options are available: unlimited, $500K, $250K, $250K with exclusions; $50K, and no PIP. In addition, please note the following:

1.     The MCCA fee per vehicle has been reduced from $220 to $100, and only applies to policies with unlimited PIP.

2.     The mini-tort limit has been increased from $1000 to $3000 .

3.     The below limits are only available to individual named insureds who meet the following criteria:
* Qualified Health Coverage is defined in the updated form A-101 for MI. Failure to document the above criteria may subject the policy to higher default PIP limits. To assist with this, we have programmed reminders into CanalOne.

4.     As a reminder, Attendant Care coverage is only automatic if unlimited PIP is selected. For limits other than Unlimited, the insured will need to either select or reject Attendant Care coverage.

5.     Mid-term policy changes to reflect the new law must be permitted , which will require a policy to be cancelled and reissued. For assistance, please contact Canal.
