Message from MISI General Chair
Congratulations to all our athletes racing during Michigan Swimming’s version of “March Madness!” Fine performances were achieved at the five Regional meets, 10 & Under State Championships hosted by SST, MAGS hosted by MLA, and ULTRAs hosted by OLY. Fast swimming was also recorded by Michigan racers at NCSA Spring Championships (Orlando, FL), CZ Speedo Sectionals (Indy), Four Corners Sectionals (Carmel), NCAA Women’s and Men’s Championships, and YMCA Nationals (Greensboro, NC). Special thanks to our host clubs, meet administrators, volunteers, and officials for providing excellent racing environments! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable spring break and returns to the pool invigorated and ready to reach a new level of performance during the long course and really long course (open water) season.
A quick correction to our March 20 message: Caleb Story, automatic All-American in the 50 & 100 free from Jenison HS, represents MLA throughout the year.
Registration is open for both the MISI Age Group Athlete Summit and the Spring 2026 MISI Coaches’ Clinic, both being held in Okemos next Sunday, April 12. Capacity for both events is limited, and Michigan Swimming is sponsoring both events with no charge for participants.
An April 15 deadline for submission of the form for MISI Equipment grants is just around the corner. Please read the information and get your application in on time! Final awards will be determined and teams winning the equipment grants will be notified y May 15, 2026.
The Annual House of Delegates meeting has been set for Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Lansing. Each team should plan to attend this meeting for a voice in Michigan Swimming’s future.
Keep on track to achieving your goals!
Best regards,
Vince Gallant, General Chair MISI
