Cafe La Trova
971 SW 8th St
Miami, FL 33130

Longtime friends and business partners, James Beard Award-winning chef, Michelle Bernstein, and cocktail maker and cantinero, Julio Cabrera, have joined forces again to create Cafe La Trova. With classic and not-so-classic Cuban-inspired cocktails and bites — along with a coffee counter to boot — it is an ode to 1980s Miami Cuban culture.
La Placita
6789 Biscayne Blvd
Miami, FL 33138

Jose Mendin has channeled his Puerto Rican roots for his latest restaurant, La Placita. The Pubbelly king teamed up with Latin American TV and soap opera star, Julian Gil, to create a proper Puerto Rican restaurant boasting a menu filled with traditional recipes with modern day twists. But the star is the “Mofongo Shop” where guests can make their own combo of Puerto Rico’s national dish.

Miami, FL 33137

Helmed by Michelin-calibered Indian chef Hemant Mathur, Maska features an assortment of traditional Indian fare sprinkled with a mix of more modern dishes. Expect items like the critically acclaimed tandoori lamb chops, duck-filled tacos, curry-topped crab cakes, and array of stuffed breads, a variety of curries and even a chutney tasting.

1 Hotel
Rosa Rosario

Special thanks go to Rosa at the concierge desk and Geoffrey at reception. Rosa recommended an incredible restaurant that was able to meet the diverse needs and wants of everyone in my family, and she and Geoffrey worked to secure a late checkout for us when we were in a bit of a bind, even though the hotel was booked for a busy upcoming weekend.
Shore Club
Doney Valdes
