5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Periodical Room

We invite you to join the Conway Public Library staff on Thursday, April 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Periodical Room for a thoughtful discussion of "The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness" by Jonathan Haidt.

This New York Times bestseller thoughtfully explores the significance of childhood play and independent exploration, as well as the transition from a play-based childhood to one dominated by screens. It delves into the implications of this shift on mental health and offers constructive suggestions for the future.

This gathering will serve as an enriching opportunity to share insights, learn from each other’s perspectives, and connect as a community. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, or educator of young children, teens, or young adults, or if you are interested in the rapid evolution of social media in our society, we warmly welcome your participation in this discussion.

Completing the book in its entirety is not required for attendance. Light refreshments will be provided. Copies of this title are available behind the circulation desk for check-out.
