Thirty-Five brothers from the Mid-Hudson District attended the District Deputy's visit to Warren Lodge #32 in Schultzville on Thursday evening, October 25, 2018. A good time and great fellowship was enjoyed by all.
On this night, the added attraction was the start of the new Traveling Gavel of our new District. The Gavel was made by our own R.·. W.·. Michael Davis out of 3 woods, cherry, maple and oak into 1 solid mass - they represent the 3 districts coming together for the more noble and glorious purpose as 1 solid district.
The name of each lodge in attendance was put into the hat, and R.·. W.·. Davis drew out "Triune-Obed Lodge #782". W.·. Ed Glick was presented the Gavel by R.·. W.·. Michael Siegel.
Triune-Obed's next meeting will be Nov 5, but rather than at the Poughkeepsie Masonic Temple, will meet with Wappingers Lodge #671. Any lodge in the district that is interesting in using the gavel, should plan on traveling to Wappingers on Mon, Nov 5.
To claim the gavel, a lodge from the Mid-Hudson District must have 5 brothers present, including either the Master or one of the Wardens. If multiple lodges qualify, the one with the most brothers in attendance will claim the gavel. Ties are broken by the lodge that traveled the furthest.
Good luck to all, and hope to see you Nov 5 in Wappingers.
