People are asking us every day for advice on what actions they can take to fight back against Trump and his administration, We are publishing this special, mid-month issue to provide some ideas. Please do whatever you can. Remember, action is the best antidote to anxiety and helplessness. Giving up is not an option -- unless we want the enemies of democracy to win.

TAKE ACTION: WISCONSIN'S 2025 SUPREME COURT ELECTION

In less than three weeks, on April 1, Wisconsin voters will decide the balance of power in their state’s Supreme Court—an election with massive national consequences. At stake is whether the court will maintain its current liberal majority or shift back to conservative control.

This race will determine who replaces Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, a crucial liberal vote on the court. If Judge Susan Crawford wins, progressives will secure their majority until at least 2028. But if Judge Brad Schimel, a former state attorney general with a far-right record, prevails, the court will deadlock at 3-3, leaving conservative Justice Brian Hagedorn as the swing vote. The loss of the progressive majority would jeopardize key rulings on voting rights, gerrymandering, and democracy itself.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court will shape the outcome of future elections far beyond Wisconsin. Joe Biden won Wisconsin in 2020 by the equivalent of just three votes per polling place. In 2024, Kamala Harris lost by a mere 0.9%. Every single vote counts. And right now, conservative mega-donors like Elon Musk’s PAC are flooding Wisconsin with millions to flip this seat. We can’t afford to lose.

We’re organizing phonebanks in these critical final weeks. Never phonebanked before? No problem! You’ll have support, training, and a group of fellow volunteers to make it easy. Plus, we’ll be calling friendly Democrats to sign them up as volunteers. Many of these people have volunteered before and just need a reminder to do it again.
