Check out Friscostocks, at 1067 Market St. @ 7th where shoppers can buy, sell and trade trendy fashions; it's a great addition to our District's cluster of destination streetwear shops.

Ikea | Ingka Centres - Getting More Than We Bargained For

Also still in the works - Inka Centres' Ikea meeting place at 945 Market Street. Shoppers get ready for a new and innovative retail experience which transcends the Ikea you know.

The retail store, meeting place, Scandinavian food hall and experiential offerings will debut later this year!

"Pod" Hotel Proposed for Mint Plaza

Proposed for 12 Mint Plaza, currently the two-story SF Fire Credit Union building, "an eight-story, 160-bed 'pod hotel' could rise up to 85 feet in height upon the Mid-Market site," according to Socketsite. Styled after the pod hotels of Japan, there would be sleeping rooms with beds, desks and storage bins, and a rooftop terrace.

Free First Year: Assistance for New Businesses

This program supports San Francisco small businesses as the City recovers from the pandemic by waiving the cost of: registration fees, initial license fees, first-year permits, and other applicable fees for qualifying businesses.

Tenderloin Declaration of Emergency & Linkage Center

The Mayor’s declaration of a local State of Emergency in the Tenderloin has brought additional public health and safety resources to the Tenderloin and surrounding areas including Civic Center and Mid Market. A component of the emergency order includes a temporary Linkage Center in United Nations Plaza which is linking people to services and care.

6th Street Pedestrian Safety Project Updates

Pedestrian Safety improvements along the 6th Street corridor between Market and Folsom begin this month; see the SFMTA and Public Works sites for more updates on this project as it moves forward. Construction is slated to last through 2024.

Better Market Street Updates

Mid Market will be the first to receive improvements as part of the Better Market Street Project. The contractor will begin work between 5th and 8th Streets soon and the BMS Project team is eager to hear from area businesses interested to join the Business Working Group. The Business Working Group will play an integral role understanding the scope of work, influencing construction mitigation strategies and sharing progress details.

Shared Space Program Manual & Reimbursement Grants

Always stay on top of your outdoor operating requirements using the Shared Space Program Manual; and apply by February 28^th to obtain a $2,500 reimbursement grant for enhancements made to your shared space.

Building Facade Inspections

Has your building's facade been inspected to avoid building elements falling onto streets and sidewalks below? Check in with the City's program to avoid penalties for late inspections: sfdbi.org/facade.

More BART Construction at 8th and Market

Traction power upgrades at Civic Center Station will activate another sidewalk job site - in front of Chase Bank and Hotel Whitcomb. This new site, adjacent to the one at 1200 Market, is also slated to be in place for the next 12-18 months.
