District News - QTR 4

Holiday Greetings & Best Wishes

for a Happy New Year

from the Mid Market CBD Team!

It has been our pleasure to serve the District this year and we look forward to improving street conditions even more in 2026.

We are seeing tremendous support from City leaders,

especially Mayor Daniel Lurie, devoted community members and the

Downtown Development Corporation.

Our streetscape maintenance statistics speak for themselves.

We had record participation for this year's 2 Blocks of Art,

shining a bright light on neighborhood businesses,

artists and makers, fabulous retail spaces for lease

and our community's enduring spirit.

Our neighborhood dog walking group took Market Street by storm

the first Thursday of each month with participation

growing to over 50 dogs by October.

Onlookers could hardly believe what they were seeing.

The Pack walked from 8th to 2nd passing through 4 CBD districts

and 6 blocks of retail shops before stopping at the

Downtown First Thursday block parties and looping back.

Early 2026 we hope to share updates on

important District advocacy work to ensure:

more automobiles return to Market Street,

convenience stores are a positive resource for downtown,

funding is obtained to extend MMCBD Ambassador work overnight and

and ample staffing is provided for SFPD's Southern Station.

If you are a new resident, business, or property owner in the District we have yet to meet, please reach out to learn about the invaluable services we have been providing in Mid Market for the past 18 years;

and what more you can look forward to from us in 2026:

Local Highlight: Oxford Street

We are especially proud of their textbook storefront operations. In addition to robust store hours that activate the sidewalk, they maintain clean, transparent and impeccably dressed front windows; wash the sidewalk in front of their store daily; and often have staff at the door welcoming shoppers to an inviting entrance.

Increase Foot Traffic to Your Business with Watch Parties

Be sure to capitalize on the many 2026 major televised events to bring foot traffic to your business. In addition to following each event's promotional rules (NFL Super Bowl Feb 8, World Cup June 11-July 19) be sure you have any necessary City permits for things like amplified sound or street and sidewalk closures. We're here to help you plan and if you tag us on social media we will promote your event.
