Memorial Day Ceremony/Parade

In honor of those who dedicated their lives for our country and our freedom. 

Avalon will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony on 
Monday, May 27th at 9am, at 21st Street and Dune Drive; Veterans Plaza. 

Stone Harbor will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 27th starting at 11am at the Stone Harbor Firehouse - a Memorial for Fallen Heroes. The 7 Mile Island American Legion Parade will begin at noon, followed by the Stephen C. Ludlam, Post #331 American Legion Open House from 1 pm to 4pm.  All are welcome!
Beach Opening Ceremony in Stone Harbor
Are you ready to 'unlock' the beaches of Stone Harbor for the 2019 summer season! Stop by 95th Street and the Beach on Saturday, May 25th at 12 pm and cheer on Stone Harbor Beach Patrol, Fire and Rescue and the Police Department as they compete in challenges for bragging rights!
All are welcome to come out and cheer on all the participants!

Festival Time at the Wetlands Institute
The Wetlands Institute is hosting it's 7th Annual Spring Shorebird & Horseshoe Crab Festival on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th. This fun-filled weekend is full of conservation based, hands-on, interactive activities for all attending! Shorebird viewing, horseshoe crab workshops, spawning demos and back-bay tours and a whole lot more! Tickets are required for the festival.

Sundays + Summer = Farmers Market
Stone Harbor's Farmers Market will begin the season on Sunday, May 26th and will be held every Sunday until September 1st. The market will open at 
8am and close at 12:30pm. Stop by 95th Street, under the water tower, and pick up fresh flowers, vegetables, crepes, honey, pizza and so much more!

Come Out of Your Shells for the Turtle Trot
The Annual Turtle Trot is set for Sunday, May 26th at 8am. This family fun day starts at 96th Street and the Beach in Stone Harbor.
  Race day registration and pre-registered runner check-in begins at 6:45 am at the Lifeguard Shack Parking Lot on 95th Street and the beach, with the 5k Race commencing at 8am. and the Fun Walk beginning just five minutes later. Come on down and have some fun for a good cause!!
