Sounds Like Trouble to Me - A Legal Thriller Inspired by True Stories

Join author Jean Trounstine as she discusses her new novel, "Sounds Like Trouble to Me," in conversation with Angelia Jefferson, a coordinator with Families for Justice as Healing.


The novel tells the true story of a corrections officer who kills her abusive husband and ends up in prison. While incarcerated, she learns about the systemic abuse faced by female prisoners, leading her to confront her past and inspire a MeToo movement behind bars.


Jean Trounstine is an activist and professor who has written eight books and has over 30 years of experience in prison justice.

Support for Caregivers with Adult Day Care

Join us for a helpful hour-long session for caregivers at 6:00 PM in our Ham Room. The Medicare GUIDE Program supports individuals with dementia and their caregivers by enhancing quality of life through care coordination, education, and connections to local resources. The program also helps reduce caregiver stress by offering guidance, ongoing support, and, for eligible participants, financial assistance for respite care.


During this session, we will cover essential topics, including:

- Adult Day Services: Learn about services for adults needing supervision and how they can help both caregivers and their loved ones.

- Medicare Guidelines: Understand eligibility, coverage, and the application process for Medicare.

- Funding Opportunities: Discover financial resources available to assist with caregiving costs.


This session will provide valuable insights and support for caregivers to ensure they can care for their loved ones while also looking after your own well-being. Take advantage of this opportunity to engage with fellow community members!

Meet me in the Middle: Book Group

A book and activity group for kids in grades 3-5 and their caregivers. Read a monthly middle-grade book, then meet at the library on the first Monday of each month after school for themed activities, discussion, and snacks. The book for June is "My Side of the Mountain" by Jean Craighead George.
