MMWA Solid Waste Material Collection Services - 2016 Holidays Listed below are the six holidays observed in 2016 by MMWA's collection services vendor, Waste Management. MMWA regularly provides information regarding holiday collection services to area newspapers, television and radio stations before each nationally recognized holiday. These press releases are also - provided directly to each member community's designated contact. MMWA entourages each member community, if possible, to provide its residents with holiday collection service information via a community mailing, newsletters, Facebook, website or municipal marquee sign prior to each holiday. MMWA updates its Facebook page and website with these notices as well. Holidays that fall on a weekday cause a one-day delay for that day and each regular service day thereafter during the week of the holiday. If a holiday falls on a weekend day, there will be no delay in services. Christmas Day is the only observed holiday that falls on a weekend day in 2016.
