South Florida's Newest Restaurants to Try

Hometown BBQ
1200 NW 22nd St
Miami, FL 33142
305-396-4551

New York City’s most popular barbecue spot has opened its second outpost right here in the Magic City — Allapattah to be exact. Taking over a former produce warehouse, it boasts the same international influenced barbecue that made the original outpost so popular, alongside with a full-service menu at night, a complete bar, and rustic-meets-Scandinavian interior, making it a perfect spot for an afternoon out with friends or a casual date night.

Papi Steak
736 1st St
Miami Beach, FL 33139
305-800-7274

David Grutman continues his quest to take over Miami’s culinary scene with the debut of his latest restaurant, Papi Steak. The spot has already become a celeb favorite (J. Lo and Drake have already been spotted) but what keeps guests coming back is the steak. The kosher-friendly menu offers items like wagyu pastrami, Maine lobster, chicken schnitzel, mac ’n cheese, latkes, and of course, the namesake Papi Steak.

Sala'o Cuban Bar & Pescaderia
1642 SW 8th Street
Miami, FL 33135
305-642-8989

The name "Sala’o" comes from the classic novel The Old Man and the Sea. Hemingway spent many years in Cuba, which inspired Mena and Rodriguez to create an eatery that pays homage to the writer.

Cuban chef Jorge Mas, who formerly worked in the Cayman Islands, Barceloneta, and NIU Kitchen, to create the dishes using daily Florida catches made with traditional Caribbean and Cuban flavors.

Guillermo

Our Concierge Guillermo was a "make it happen" kind of guy!

Vachira
Shore Club

In our 2nd day of vacation, my wife lost her phone and became very upset, due to all the valuable information plus precious family pictures. We saw Vachira at her work, and my wife spoke to her for help to use the phone to try to find hers. Vachira went more than the extra mile to help my wife to find her phone and helped her to go together to the last places my wife and I been there, she walked with her in the rain, and then got the Hotel Car to pick up the phone, she even tipped the driver on our behalf. What Vachira did is beyond what every one can do now a days to help others. God Bless her, her approach to manage the issue and her behaviour is indication of good leadership.

A big thanks to Amelia from concierge who help me to do a beautiful surprise to my wife.

Charlie Phynes Garcia
Diplomat

But what sealed the deal for me was their concierge, Charlote "Charlie". She was fabulous. Since I did book this trip last minute, I hadn't had any time to plan any activities. She was a lifesaver! Everything she recommended was great!
