Mid-Quarter Update from Las Lomas PTSA

Can you believe we’re already halfway through the first quarter? Time flies! As we settle into the school year, watch for PTSA events like parent education, dine-in fundraisers, and teacher appreciation activities—there’s so much to get involved in!

Upcoming PTSA Association Meeting

Tuesday, October 7th from 7:00-8:00pm via Zoom

Guest Speaker: John Walker, Associate Superintendent

Time: 8:00–8:30 PM

Topic: AI in AUHSD: Key Opportunities and Next Steps

Following the PTSA meeting, join us for a 30-minute presentation with John Walker. He will explore how AI can enhance student learning while highlighting recently adopted policy guidelines and best practices for responsible use in secondary education.

Why PTSA Membership Matters

Ever wonder what the PTSA actually does? By becoming a member, you directly support students, teachers, and school programs. Your membership fuels our budget—over 70% (more than $30,000!) goes straight to classroom supplies and student support, including groceries for Cooking, art materials for 3D Art, equipment for Auto Shop, and staff appreciation lunches.

Our 2025–2026 Membership Goal

This year, we’ve set a tall goal: 1,000 PTSA members! While this hasn’t been done in recent history, with a potential membership of over 4,200 parents, caregivers, teachers, and students, reaching just 24% participation feels achievable—especially with a membership fee of only $21.

With potential district budget cuts following Measure T not passing, growing our PTSA membership is more important than ever. Every membership directly strengthens our classrooms and programs, helping ensure students and teachers have the support they need. We currently have 649 members—let’s keep the momentum going and reach our goal together!
