Updates from the Legislative Session

Energy Bills on the Rise

Have you noticed your energy bill creeping up? You’re not alone, many Maryland families are feeling the same strain. A big part of the increase comes from how energy is being regulated and produced. As more rules and costs are placed on power generation, it becomes more expensive to supply electricity, and those costs eventually make their way to your monthly bill.

Families shouldn’t have to choose between keeping the lights on and managing other everyday expenses. The focus should be on keeping energy reliable, practical, and affordable for everyone.

My office is actively working to push back on policies that are driving up energy costs for Maryland families. I know how important it is to keep costs down, and I will continue working to make sure Maryland families are not left carrying the weight of these rising prices.
