PREPARE YOUR DAYS
Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should. Ps 90:12 TLB
What will your future days bring?
Many people just watch and wait passively to see what their future days will bring but the Bible tells us that we are to prepare them.
The Bible says, “Teach us to number our days.” So what does that mean?
We need to look at the Hebrew word for number in this passage. That word is manah, pronounced - maw-naw'. Manah is to prepare or appoint.
So the Word is saying, “Teach us to prepare/appoint our days.”
The first days, in the very beginning didn’t just happen. Before they existed, God prepared them. He appointed them. So as children of God we are to do the same.
We aren’t supposed to just sit around passively and wait to see what will happen in our future days, we are to prepare them. We are to live on purpose!
How do we prepare our days before they happen? With Prayer! We are to pray for our days that haven’t even come to be yet!
So many times we get it locked in our minds that prayer is for what is going on now and it is, but prayer isn’t only for what is, but it’s also for what is not yet.
Praying for our future days isn’t trying to determine what will happen. It’s not about that. We are to appoint our days in God to bring what is good. We consecrate our days for Gods purposes then go about those days to accomplish that purpose.
Don’t let your days determine your life. Let your life determine your days. Prepare your days by praying about your future. Prepare your days by declaring the Word over them so those days will become vessels of blessing, life and purpose!
Declaration to Life: I commit my days into Gods hands and appoint them for fulfilling Gods purposes.
