YOU POSESS AUTHORITY
Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me. John 14:1(AMPC)
Why is it that when a storm or trial hits us we tend to instantly become overwhelmed by the circumstances? We worry and fret, look outward, instead of upward, and try and figure out how we’re going to fix this situation.
It’s like we momentarily forget that Jesus is with us. But He is with us in EVERY situation so we don’t need to be overwhelmed by what is going on around us! Jesus has already paved a path for us through whatever storm we may encounter.
We don’t need to get anxious or feel like we are going under when we’re in a storm because we possess the truth that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us!
We have to learn not to give up our peace over things that happen to us. If we allow the enemy to steal our peace, then he has our hearts.
We must still our hearts during times of turbulence through prayer. Reaching out to God and saying, “Lord, I am going to trust you. I may not feel you or see you working, but I know you are.” By saying this out loud, it brings a calming to your mind a wonderful peace to the situation. The storm may still be raging but you’re not going to rage along with it! You will rest in the midst of the storm.
Just because everything and everyone in your life may be going crazy, you don’t have to. Some things we can’t fix, but we can take it to the one we know who can!
We possess the authority over our own hearts. We know that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. The Lord is our strength and shield, a very present help in times of trouble, and our peace! Whatever is happening in your life, don’t let your heart be troubled.
Declaration to Life: I will not let my heart be troubled, distressed or agitated. I trust you Lord and allow peace to overshadow the storm.
