KINGDOM OF GOD - JOY

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit .Romans 14:17

There is a divine order that we see in Romans 14:17 – Righteousness, Peace and Joy! You must walk in each one in the order they are in to have the other.



You must first walk in your righteousness; you’re right standing with God. That includes using your authority over the enemy when he opposes you and refusing to live in guilt, shame or condemnation of the past. When you refuse to yield to what the enemy brings your way you will then walk in your righteousness and peace comes.

In the same way, you must walk in peace in order to experience joy!

Joy is one of the nine fruits of the spirit that are already in you as a believer. Joy was made yours when you became born-again. It’s at your disposal 24 hours a day and as you yield to joy it will flow in your life.

How do you yield to joy? You draw it up from your spirit when things are difficult and you start praising and rejoicing.

Learn to praise, rejoice and laugh at the face of the enemy when he comes against you! You’re not rejoicing or laughing because things are difficult; rather, you’re rejoicing and laughing because that is how you dip down into the well of your spirit and draw up joy that is already deep inside of you!

Picture an old-fashioned well with a bucket hanging from it. As you start praising, rejoicing and laughing in the face of opposition your lowering that bucket down into the well and the more you rejoice as you draw that bucket up, joy will come up with it and overflow out of you!

I love this quote from C.S. Lewis, a respected author who had some great things to say about joy. He said, “Joy is the serious business of Heaven.” In other words, Heaven conducts its most serious business in an atmosphere of joy. In the Kingdom of God, there is some business being taken care of! While you rejoice, transactions are made and prayers are answered.

Righteousness, peace and joy are yours! Yield to them today! As you operate in Gods divine order that He gave you, you will live the life that God authored you to live – days free from shame, worry, fear and doubt – days of Heaven on the earth!
