EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY
Behold, I give you the authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7
It makes me sad to see Christians being beat up by the enemy, whom as a child of God; they have total and absolute authority over!
As believers, we must stand our ground against him and resist him and he must flee! We’re not resisting him in ourselves; we are resisting him as one who is in Christ – one who has authority over him!
Jesus defeated satan and stripped him, leaving him utterly defeated. Colossians 2:15 tells us that “Jesus disarmed principalities and powers; He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” He won so we win!
We’re not under satans authority and dominion. He has been stripped of his power to harm us! We are now under God’s Kingdom and authority! Jesus defeated and stripped satan of his authority, He then handed us the victory and tells us to resist him!
Jesus gave us the keys of the kingdom of heaven (Matt16:19).He is telling us how the Kingdom of Heaven operates; with dominion and authority. The body of Christ operates by using dominion and authority over the enemy!
When he opposes us, we are to exercise authority over him! One of the ways we resist him is by doing what Jesus did when he was in the wildness and being tempted by the enemy. He overcame every temptation by answering the enemy with the Word of God, saying, “It is written…”
The mind is the devils battleground. He likes to attack in the mental arena. If he can hold you in the mental arena, he’s got you whipped. We’re to act in the arena of faith – the arena of the Spirit. We hold him in the arena of faith by answering wrong thoughts with the Word of God just like Jesus did!
You must learn to answer the enemy with the Word of God.
You can’t out think him – you answer him with the Word in your mouth and then he won’t stick around!
Declaration to Life: I resist the devil by socking him in the teeth with the Word of God! He cannot tap dance in my mental arena! I have power and authority over him as a child of God!
