IT'S TIME TO GET OUT

And On that very day the Lord brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their hosts. Exodus 12:51

In the original language the word Hebrew means “the one who crosses over”. That’s exactly what the Hebrew people did; they crossed over the Red Sea and the Jordan River. They crossed the Jordan to enter into their Promised Land but they crossed over the Red Sea to “get out” of the land of Egypt.

The act of entering is so important but just as important is the act of exiting. In fact it’s so important that there is an entire book in the Bible named after it, Exodus.

Exiting is as holy as entering. We can’t have one without the other. It’s so simple, yet so insightful. Getting out is a holy act!

Abraham was the first called to “get out”. He was to get out of his own country and go to a land that God would show him. All the promises and blessings of the future rested on those two small words “get out”.

Jesus called His disciples to go with Him. But first they had to leave, drop their nets, get out of their boats, abandoned their old way of life. If they didn’t leave, they couldn’t go.

God calls us to do the same. To move, follow, come and enter into blessings, but first we must leave. So many long for something new and better, but few are willing to leave.

Many times in my life I have had to leave one thing in order to go to the next. It can be painful and stretching, but if you want to go to a place you aren’t, you must first leave where you are. This principle works in the physical and the spiritual realm.

Its a new year! Where do you need to go? What Promised Land has God called you to? What must you first leave? Don’t fear, begin your Exodus today. There are great things in store for those who “get out” and “step in”.

Declaration to Life: I will leave the old and will enter into new. I’m crossing the Red sea out of Egypt, and crossing over the Jordan into my Promised Land.

Take an inventory of your heart and make sure you really KNOW JESUS!
