UNDER THE BLOOD

And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses.

For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. Exodus 12:7, 23

Passover is a time of remembrance that is celebrated by Jews yearly. The first Passover meal was eaten on the eve of the Israelites release from slavery in Egypt.

On that particular occasion, the Lord told them to kill a spotless lamb and apply its blood to the top and sides of their doors. They were to stay in their houses and roast the meat of the lamb. When the death angel came, he would pass over the ones with the blood on their doorposts and they would be protected. In other words, no destruction would come to those who were under the blood!

Not only were they protected, but they were also delivered from the bondage of Egypt. There were over 3 million people, many of them old and they had been slaves for years but Psalm 105:37 tells us that God brought them out with gold and silver and with not one feeble among them. Everyone came out strong and healthy with money in their pockets and joy in their hearts! Wow!

So what does this event have to do with us today?

The Passover, that event in Exodus, was prophetic. The prophecy that a Messiah would come again to free the Israelites from bondage was passed down from generation to generation. The fulfillment of that prophecy required the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus was the sinless lamb. He poured out his blood to pay for the sins of all mankind. When we yes to Jesus, we are under that blood. We have been freed from the slavery to sin and all that comes with it. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are free from the clutches of the destroyer – satan. We are saved, delivered, protected, healed and set free!

As you begin to understand the benefits of the blood of Jesus, you will take the scriptures on the blood and exercise your faith. Not only through knowledge of what the blood has done for you, but by releasing your faith and speaking what the Word says about the blood!



Sing and speak about the blood! Find every scripture on the blood that you can and speak them over and over because the blood of Jesus never loses its power and it puts the enemy on the run!

Declaration to Life: By Jesus’ own blood, He obtained eternal redemption for me. (Heb. 9:12) Because I apply the blood of Jesus to my home, the Lord will not allow the destroyer to come into my house and destroy my family, my possessions or me. (Exd. 12:23) There is power in the blood of Jesus!
